Aloo mutter is one of my favorite north Indian dishes. It goes well with anything; rice, rotis, bread, dosa, appams. Its a perfect spicy semi gravy and it has potatos and peas! What else could you ask for ?
I had a bit of rice powder left from the puttu packet. I added some water and salt to it and mixed it to a dosa consistency. Make sure there isnt any lumps in the batter. You can also add an egg to it. I been eating a lot of eggs the past two days so decided against the eggs. I like to spread my dosa thin so it turns out nice and crisp. This combination of a classic north Indian dish and a south Indian one tastes brilliant.

Bombay potatoes is a spiced potato dish made with whole spices. It can include curry leaves, different spices, peanuts, and so on. This version uses mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and peas to add some color and protein. Add some other vegetables or cooked chickpeas to make it a meal. This recipe also works well with sweet potatoes.
Notes by Melissa Huggins: I added 1 tablespoon of tomato paste right after the onions finished browning and cooked it for 30 seconds. Then I added the blended tomato mixture. This deepens the tomato flavor, but the recipe is still really flavorful without it.
Yellow peas curry! Though i have made it before also.. but that was a bit different. Ghugni is something near to this, which i usually make at home as me and my family loves it. But this spicy potato and yellow pea curry is way different from Ghugni. You can say its typical North Indian curry. Let me make it more easy, you all know what Aloo Mutter is, the one we make using fresh green peas. right? This is similar to that, but it is made with dried yellow peas.
And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat? Well, dont – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories. Little did you know!
firstly lets prepare the masala for the curry. In a blender, add roughly chopped tomatoes, coconut, ginger, garlic, green chillies, coriander leaves, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds. Grind all these to a fine paste and keep it aside until use.
